Join us on November 27, at 12:00 (Porto time), for the webinar: "Charting Digital Sovereignty: A Survival Playbook”, a session we are organizing within the scope of the Executive Master in Cybersecurity Management.
For this session we have invited Roberto Baldoni, Former General Director of Italy's National Cybersecurity Agency. In this conversation we will explore the multifaceted concept of digital sovereignty, situated at the intersection of national security and economy, and driven by the relentless, often disruptive, advances in digital technology.
But what does digital sovereignty truly mean?
At its core, it is the ability of a nation to safeguard its data and digital infrastructure from various threats. These threats may be accidental, such as the recent CrowdStrike incident, or intentional, stemming from nation-states (e.g., geopolitical actions, predatory acquisition or cyber attacks), criminal groups (e.g., ransomware), or even the technology itself—like in the case of artificial intelligence.
Are our nations resilient enough against cyberattacks? Is Europe prepared to undergo the necessary restructuring to remain competitive in the digital age?
Rui Oliveira, codirector of the Executive Master in Cybersecurity Management and Senior Researcher at INESC TEC, will moderate the session.
