During Disability Awareness Month, the Documentation and Information Center (CDI) of Porto Business School is pleased to present the painting exhibition by VINCENT da Rocha Dioh, on display from September to December 2024.
Vincent is autistic and began painting at a very young age. At just 3 years old, he picked up pens and brushes and never stopped. By the age of 6, he held his first public exhibition and has since participated in over twenty solo exhibitions and six group shows. He has exhibited in Portugal, France, and England, and was selected for three art biennials in Portugal. Recently, he was awarded a certificate of merit by the Luxembourg Art Prize. His story has been featured in numerous press articles and television reports.
The works presented in this exhibition, entitled “From Dream to Reality”, are previously unseen pieces created when he was just 10 years old. Today, at 29, Vincent is an inspiring example of perseverance and talent. Despite his limitations, he has a gift and a passion for what he does, offering us the vibrant beauty of his richly colorful palette.
Vincent’s artistic journey is shared through exhibitions, catalogues, books, conferences, on Instagram, and via his blog.
In addition to providing a unique aesthetic experience, this exhibition is also an opportunity to reflect on the importance of social responsibility and the promotion of diversity and inclusion in our communities. As we dive into the vibrant colors and expressive forms of Vincent’s paintings, we are invited to enter the world of a neurodivergent mind, broadening our understanding of the many ways to see and interpret the world.
Step into Vincent’s magical world!
