At Porto Business School, we believe in creating memorable beginnings for our international students, and this year’s welcome event was no exception. To celebrate the arrival of new students from our diverse programs—including the MBA cohorts (EMBA, IMBA, GOMBA), Executive Masters, and Postgraduate courses— on October 26th, we organized a day filled with the best of Portuguese traditions, giving them an unforgettable taste of Porto’s rich culture.
The day began with a picturesque Six Bridges Cruise along the Douro River, offering students stunning views of Porto’s historic bridges and riverside charm. This was followed by a visit to the renowned Sandeman Wine Cellar, where students experienced an authentic Port Wine tasting—introducing them to one of Portugal’s most cherished customs. The day wrapped up with a cozy Tapas dinner at Sancho Panza, overlooking the Douro from Gaia, as the sun set over the city’s iconic skyline.
These warm welcome allowed students to connect, with the Portuguese culture and with their peers from diverse backgrounds, building bonds that will enhance their experience at Porto Business School. The day’s activities encouraged networking and shared moments, setting the stage for a strong, supportive community that will be invaluable as they navigate their academic programs together.
This event wasn’t just about sightseeing; it was about immersing our students in the cultural heart of Portugal. We’re thrilled to see them embrace the sights, flavours, and experiences Porto has to offer and look forward to supporting them as they embark on their journey with us!
