From March 5 until 21, two teams of students from The International MBA Programme of Porto Business School (formerly known as “The Magellan MBA”) participated in the GLOBAL CASE COMPETITION, an international case competition organized by BI Norwegian Business School, whose goal is to generate innovative solutions for the Food United Nations Systems Summit '2021.
During these weeks, 85 teams, from 62 business schools around the world, focused their energy and knowledge to find sustainable and practical solutions to fight food waste and hunger in the poorest countries. Top schools such as Harvard, IE, New York University, UC Berkeley, and Wharton were represented.
One of the Porto Business School teams, composed by Ana Patrícia Barros, André Lhamas, Frederico Antas, and Tobias Azevedo, reached the 1st. place in the competition by presenting the “De-bugging Food Systems” solution, whose objective is to contribute to a healthier and more sustainable food chain.
It should be noted that the other Porto Business School team in the contest, composed by Benedita Duarte, Joana Azevedo, Bruno Primo, and Pedro Rosa, also showed an excellent performance having achieved a meritorious 3rd place in its division.
Renata Blanc, director of the International MBA Programme and other MBA professors, effectively trained and accompanied the students in another international competition.
The winning team will now have the opportunity to present their idea to United Nations specialists working more deeply in the commercialization of the presented solution, and in close connection with the key players in innovation worldwide.
Congratulations!
