New Executive Program: "Business Analytics in Tourism"
Free program equipping tourism professionals with essential data analytics and strategic management skills for digital transformation and innovation
Porto Business School and NOVA Information Management School – NOVA IMS have launched the executive program "Business Analytics in Tourism," starting on December 9, 2024. This fully funded course is designed to provide tourism professionals with advanced skills in data analysis and strategic management, essential for fostering digital transformation and innovation in one of Portugal's key economic sectors.
Integrated into the "Accelerating and Transforming Tourism" (ATT) project and funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), the program aims to prepare tourism organizations to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving market. It focuses on promoting competitiveness, sustainability, and innovation in enhancing the tourist experience.
The program spans 68 hours of training across online and in-person modules, offering a highly practical and results-driven approach. Participants will gain hands-on experience in applying data analytics tools to anticipate trends and enhance the tourism experience. The curriculum includes training in Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to personalize services, as well as strategies to boost competitiveness and differentiation within their organizations. The program will be delivered by international experts and emphasizes immediate practical application.
Rita Marques, Program Coordinator and Director of the Tourism Futures Center at Porto Business School, and Bruno Jardim, Guest Lecturer at NOVA IMS, emphasize: "Tourism, one of the main drivers of Portugal's economy, is increasingly in need of strategic, data-driven adaptation to ensure competitiveness and sustainability. This program aims to equip industry professionals with the tools for data analysis and strategic management, enabling them to innovate the customer journey, embrace digital transformation, and optimize the tourism experience in Portugal."
The program is designed for professionals and entities across the tourism sector, including public and private organizations, start-ups, and regional associations. Open to individuals from diverse technical backgrounds, it promotes a broad and inclusive learning experience. Furthermore, the program offers formal certification, recognizing the skills and competencies acquired by participants.
Enrollment requires a refundable deposit of €100, which is reimbursed upon completing at least 75% of the program. The course runs from December 9, 2024, to March 14, 2025, and registrations are now open. For more information, consult the program brochure available on the official website.
