The MBA Orientation Week 2024/2025 concluded inspiringly with a day dedicated to social responsibility. With the participation of 130 MBA students from Porto Business School, this initiative represents an opportunity to make a difference in the community.
A Collective Effort for Change
The students rolled up their sleeves and dedicated a day to repairing and painting the exterior walls of the APPC (Associação do Porto para a Paralisia Cerebral). This collective effort contributed to improving the living conditions of 350 beneficiaries of the Association. APPC’s independent houses are designed to meet the specific needs of individuals with cerebral palsy, providing them with a dignified and welcoming environment.
A Partnership That Makes a Difference
This initiative was accomplished in collaboration with Just a Change, that transforms lives through volunteer work. With the support of a vast network of volunteers and local communities, Just a Change has already impacted the lives of more than 15,000 beneficiaries and has a community of over 20,000 volunteers. The participation of Porto Business School students in this project promoted teamwork and solidarity, aligning with the school’s values of social responsibility and community commitment.
The Importance of Social Team building
By dedicating a day to community service, the MBA students had the opportunity to get to know each other better and strengthen their bonds. Moreover, this initiative was also a chance for them to learn the value of contributing to society in practice. This hands-on experience is essential in shaping leaders who not only seek professional success but also care about the well-being of their communities.
The MBA Orientation Week 2024/2025 could not have ended in a more meaningful way. The collective effort of the Porto Business School students in renovating the APPC residences is a testament to the power of volunteering and social responsibility.
Initiatives like this change lives and inspire future generations of leaders to take action for a better world.
