BPI bank has just launched the 1st edition of the DTI Academy (Data, Transformation, Impact), aimed at attracting new talent in the field of Artificial Intelligence. This training programme is designed for recent graduates and those about to graduate in STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) who are looking to work at the forefront of Artificial Intelligence, in areas such as Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing. The training programme lasts for 12 months, during which seven weeks will involve participation from Porto Business School and LTPlabs. During this period, participants will go through a comprehensive curriculum, combining synchronous and asynchronous learning sessions, visits, lectures, and practical projects.
The main goal of the DTI Academy is to train professionals skilled in artificial intelligence, deepen technical competencies, and cultivate a problem-solving mindset using data and analytical techniques. As such, participants will have the opportunity to specialize in fundamental areas like Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, and Advanced Analytics.
The programme, taught over 7 weeks, will be led by a team headed by Pedro Amorim, co-founder of LTPlabs and invited lecturer at Porto Business School, along with Teresa Bianchi de Aguiar, partner at LTPlabs. Both will contribute their extensive practical experience and cutting-edge knowledge to the participants' development. Following the seven weeks, additional training weeks will ensue, as well as a full immersion in BPI's working environment, providing a valuable and practical real-world experience in Data Science.
"The DTI Academy aims to attract new talent to BPI's Artificial Intelligence sector. It is a distinguishing move by BPI in a field that is revolutionizing the banking sector and will have a transformative impact on our ability to serve our clients, allowing unparalleled levels of personalization, efficiency, and service," explains Ricardo Chaves, executive director of the Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (CEIA).
José Esteves, dean of the Porto Business School, emphasises: "The DTI Academy is an exceptional opportunity for participants to become leaders in Data Science and drive digital transformation in organizations." He adds, "We are excited to be a part of this innovative program, in synergy with LTPlabs and BPI, looking forward to jointly continuing to help professionals thrive in this growing market."
The programme kicked off on September 11 and offers an opportunity for recent STEM graduates to become qualified professionals in the field of Data Science.
