Alliance for the industry brings together NOS, COTEC, INESC TEC, Kaizen Institute, and Porto Business School
The Industry Club, presented on May 15 at Porto Business School, was created with the aim of boosting digital transformation in the industry in Portugal and decisively contributing to the sector's competitiveness. This is a pioneering alliance between five entities committed to energizing the national industry: a COTEC, o INESC TEC, o Kaizen Institute, a NOS e a Porto Business School.
Founded with the goal of establishing an open platform for sharing best practices, training, and networking, the Industry Club is open to decision-makers and top managers of companies operating in Portugal. It is committed to creating visibility for existing opportunities, sharing success stories, and fostering points of contact to support companies on their journey towards digital excellence.
Members of this club will have exclusive access to industry news and studies, events, practical workshops, technical visits to leading companies, as well as the most advanced training programs in innovation and industrial management.
João Ricardo Moreira, administrator of NOS Communications, emphasized: “This initiative reinforces NOS's commitment to being a driver of transformation and development in the country, helping companies incorporate technology into their transformation processes, leveraging best practices.”
For Jorge Portugal, General Director of COTEC Portugal, “the Industry Club platform is born from a powerful alliance between reputable entities that complement each other and understand the technological capital needs of the industrial sectors. By integrating this alliance, COTEC Portugal reinforces its leadership position in promoting companies' competitiveness through access to innovation capital.”
José Carlos Caldeira from INESC TEC underlines that “technological advances are exponential, and being prepared to take advantage of the resulting opportunities will be crucial to ensuring the industry's development and growth.” According to this expert, the interface role between academia and industry, provided by entities such as INESC TEC, is fundamental to effectively and efficiently seizing these opportunities.
“It is urgent to help the industrial sector achieve concrete impacts, being aware that technology alone does not solve all problems, but must be accompanied by continuous improvement methodologies capable of achieving the expected results,” adds José Carlos Pires, Senior Partner of Kaizen Institute.
José Esteves, Dean of Porto Business School, reinforces the “importance of training in transformation processes. Transformation is fundamentally about change, and organizational change is the basis of digital business transformation. Organizational change, related to people, processes, strategies, structures, and competitive dynamics, is where most of the challenges and opportunities lie."
