David Paula
He joined VdA in 2016 and is currently a Senior Associate in the Communications, Data Protection & Technology practice, where he has worked on several transactions, with a particular focus on negotiating contracts in the area of information technology and intellectual property.
He has been actively involved in several complex B2B technology-related projects and transactions, advising Portuguese and international entities in a range of industries and sectors, including technology and communications, banking and fintechs, insurance, media & entertainment and sports. In addition to his experience in drafting and negotiating technology-related agreements, including SaaS and PaaS, cloud services, software licensing and MSAs, he also regularly works with clients in relation to digital transformation, migration issues, contract management and the renegotiation of legacy contracts, as well as copyright issues, e-commerce and e-procurement, emerging technologies (in particular AI, blockchain, non-fungible tokens, robotic process automation and eSports). In recent years, he has been a frequent speaker on issues related to electronic identification, intellectual property and cybersecurity in the financial sector
