Luís Castro
He has been a journalist for 37 years, 32 of them at RTP. As a war reporter, he has covered 25 war or conflict situations, including:
Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, East Timor, Angola, Cabinda, Zaire, Congo, etc.
In 2010, he was awarded the D. Afonso Henriques medal - Merit of the Army General Staff - by the then Chief of Staff of the Army, General Pinto Ramalho.
In 2023, he was awarded the Cruz de São Jorge medal - Merit of the General Staff of the Armed Forces - by Lieutenant-General Martins Pereira.
He is currently:
- Presenter of RTP2's "Sociedade Civil";
- President of the "Casa do Pessoal da RTP";
- Writer for the newspaper Nascer do SOL;
- Businessman and manager;
- Event promoter.
