Paulo Calçada
Paulo Calçada holds a master’s degree in electrical and Computer Engineering. He is responsible for the Innovation area of the Municipality of Porto and CEO of Porto Digital. Previously, Paulo worked at the University of Porto and the Telecommunications Institute, having been Executive Director of the Center of Competence for Future Cities of the University of Porto and responsible for the Business Development and Technical Transfer of the Telecommunications Institute in Porto. In 2010 he co-founded EuroCloud - the European Association for the promotion of Cloud Computing, and he was the Vice President for 3 years. EuroCloud is a non-profit association that aims to promote and disseminate the Cloud Computing model in Europe and is currently present in 31 countries. Paulo participates in national and international working groups, as well as in R&D projects co-financed by European programs, related to information technologies, namely in the areas of interoperability, certification, future cities, and digital transition. Since 2021 he is the Co-chair of the European Network of Smart Cities OASC – Open and Agile Smart Cities.
