Mário Amorim Lopes

I currently hold professorship and research positions, and conduct R&D and consultancy projects on the following streams: 1. Text mining and clinical decision-making in oncology. I lead a team of PhDs and PhDs students that are currently developing and applying Machine Learning algorithms to the biggest Portuguese oncological hospital. 2. Blockchain and e-marketplaces. A joint project with Carnegie Mellon University for developing a customer-push e-marketplace over Blockchain (uses Ethereum and Enigma). Also developing a P2P renewable energy market over the blockchain for prosumers. 3. Healthcare management. I have developed several projects with pharmacies, hospitals and pharmaceutical distribution companies applying state-of-the-art inventory management models. 4. Health economics and policy. I advise stakeholders and other political stakeholders on public policies related to health.
