Ana Paula Serra
Ana Paula Serra has a degree in Economics from the School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto (1988), an MBA from Porto Business School (1990), and a PhD in Financial Economics from the London Business School, University of London (1999).
She has been a professor at the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Porto (since 1999) and at Porto Business School (since 2000). She has been a researcher at cefUP - the Economics and Finance Research Center of the University of Porto -, in the areas of Financial Markets and Banking (since 2000).
She is Non Executive Board Member of EDP Renováveis (since 2024).
She is Member of the Statutory Audit Board of INESC-TEC (since 2024).
Previously
She was a Member of the Board of Directors of Banco de Portugal (2017-2022), a Member of the Supervisory Board of the European Central Bank (2019-2022), a Member of the Board of Supervisors of the European Banking Authority (2019-2022) and a Permanent Member of the CNSF- the Portuguese Council of Financial Supervisors (2019-2022). He was also Banco de Portugal's Representative on the Portuguese Statistical Council (2019-2022).
Previously, she was a Member of the Audit Board of Banco de Portugal (2014-2017) and a Member of the Advisory Board of IGCP (2015-2017).
In academia, she was Vice-Director (2015-2017) of the School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto and Vice-Director of Porto Business School (University of Porto), She was Porto Business School Director for Executive Education and a member of UNICON- The Global Consortium of University‐based Executive Education (2009-2015).
At the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Porto, she teaches undergraduate, master's and doctoral courses she is a full-time researcher. She was Director of the Master's in Business Sciences (2004-2010) and Director of the Master's in Finance (2005-2007). She has supervised 5 doctoral theses and more than 30 master's dissertations.
At Porto Business School, she has taught the MBA and several Postgraduate and Executive courses (2000-2017). She was Director of the Postgraduate programme in Financial Analysis (2003-2017), the Postgraduate programme in Real Estate Management (2003-2017 & 2023-) and the Postgraduate programme in Project Management (2013-2017) as well as coordinator of other short Executive programmes. He was also a member of the Academic Council (2008-2009).
At BPI - Banco Português do Investimento, she was a Member of the Supervisory Board (2012-2014), where she also worked for four years (controller, research analyst and portfolio manager).
She was a member of the Board of Directors of APAF - Associação Portuguesa de Analistas Financeiros (2012-2015 & 1992-1993).
She has carried out consultancy work for private companies and public institutions in the areas of financial asset management, project analysis and financing, and impact studies, among others. He has been a member of several Academic and Professional Juries and Monitoring Committees of public institutions.
