Fernando Santos
Retired Professor at Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Porto, where he did his undergraduate studies in Economics, in 1973. He began teaching at this university the same year. Fernando Teixeira dos Santos has a PhD in Economics from the University of South Carolina (USA). He was State Secretary of Treasury and Finance (1995-1999), President of Portugal’s Securities and Exchange Commission (CMVM) (2000-2005), Minister of State and Finance (2005-2011). Between July and October 2009, he was also Minister for the Economy and Innovation. CEO of EuroBic (Banco BIC Português SA) between July 2016 and November 2020.
