Joana Pimentel
Joana Ferreira Pimentel is a Senior Adviser at the Economics and Research Department at Banco de Portugal, since June 2015.
Previously, at Banco de Portugal, she spent eight years at the Prudencial Supervison Department where she was responsible for quarterly reports on Portuguese financial sector risks and vulnerabilities, cross sector analysis and presentations to EC/ECB/IMF (Troika) under the “Programa de Assistência Económica e Financeira” (PAEF). She participated in the process of implementation of Basel III in Europe in cooperation with the European Commission and European Banking Authority (focus on liquidity measures). She also participated in the European legislation process on securitization in cooperation with the European Banking Authority and the European Central Bank, being responsible for the analysis, from a prudential perspective, of securitization transactions issued by Portuguese institutions.
Prior to joining Banco de Portugal, she was a Risk Consultant at Deloitte & Touche in Boston and Auditor at Deloitte & Touche in Porto (former Andersen).
She received her Master degree in Finance from Carroll Graduate School of Management – Boston College (2005) and her undergraduate degree in Management from Faculdade de Economia do Porto (FEP, 2000).
