Filipe Sousa
Filipe Sousa is a senior researcher at Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS and head of the Connected Things department. He leads a group in the research field of cyber-physical systems addressing the Internet of Things (IoT) challenges in identity, security, privacy, connectivity, interoperability, and reliability topics. In the past, he was a researcher at INESC Porto, where he actively participated in several European Research Projects (WINMAN, ASSET, NUGGETS, DAIDALOS, and VISNET). Filipe Sousa holds a PhD in telecommunication from the Porto University and a Master in Business Information from the Catholic University of Porto. At Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS, he coordinated the mobilizer project AAL4ALL, involving 32 partners and the SmartBEAT project. His main research interests are in mobile computing, embedded intelligence, and wireless communications.
